Should the system catalog tables be SMS or DMS?
Please help.

If you make sure the tablespace is associated with a bufferpool that is large enough, then it doesn't really matter. Generally, the entire catalog can fit in about 6000 4K pages. Of course, if you have other tablespaces in the same bufferpool, then you need to adjust the bufferpool size accordingly.
