Restrictions from the DB2 Precompiler

Hi,

I'm using the DB2 V8.2 precompiler for my embedded sql files.
Short question, is it possible to raise this...annoying... restriction, that a cursorname can only have 18 characters?

DB2 limits are documented in the SQL Reference Vol I, Appendix A. SQL limits.
