Question Cannot start db2cc.exe

Dear All,

I installed this DB2 V5 (a bit out of date, i know) in Windows 2003 Server (Standard Ed 5.2, R2). The problem is, I cannot start the db2cc.exe. There is Application Error: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application".

The stange thing is, some other exe in \SQLLIB\bin\, such as db2cca.exe,
can be started.

The OS could be a factor, but I did install same version of DB2 in another
server running Win 2003 Server.

Urgent! Any help/hint is really appreciated!

Did you try rebooting the windows 2003 server and see if the service starts now?

HTH.

Thanks for the reply.

I've found the cause of the problem. The machine installed Win 2003 Server Std Edt has SP1, which supported DB2 V8 and above. Thus db2cc.exe cannot be started.

I reinstalled the 2003 Server OS without SP1, then DB2 can work properly.
