Post Applying fix pack.

Hi All,
I have downloaded the fixpack 11 for DB2 UDB 8.1.

My database is currently : 8.1.7.

I tried to run the installer in the zip file (from the download) and I see an error that says, I already have an database of lower version.

What I want is to apply the fixpack 11 to my existing database.

I also tried running
db2updv8.exe as follows (from my existing database directory)

C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2updv8.exe -d mydb-u ADMIN-p pwdd111
DB2UPDV8 complete successfully for database 'mydb'.

C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>

But still I do not see my database to have upgraded.

Can any one tell me how should I apply the fixpack on my existing database?

Regards
Ayusman

On DB2 for Windows, it is usually better to unzip and extract the fixpack file, and then run the setup. Any existing instances and databases should be automatically updated.

If things are really messed up, you may need to backup your database, uninstall DB2 and re-install. When you uninstall, the databases will not be removed, so you can recatalog them after you reinstall. If recatalog does not work, then restore the backup you made.
