root db2 usage

I have installed DB2 V7.2 Administration Client on 3 different linux servers. One of them has the root userid able to use the DB2 just like db2inst1 instance. The other 2 gets the error "-bash: db2: command not found". How can I make the other 2 servers have the root id able to use db2 as db2inst1 user ?. I added root id into "db2iadm1" group but it didn't work.

All client installations have a db2inst1 instance created and they can use db2.

Thanks for any help.

I would strongly recommend against you doing that, but if you want to make it work, you need to add the commands added by DB2 to the .bashrc file for db2inst1 to the .bashrc file of root. The log out of root and log back in.
