Question DB2 Test Load

I'm would try to perform some loading test on my DB2 database simulating a big amount of connections (>4000).
Any suggestion on how to accomplish this without an expensive solution?
I looked for a tool on the web but they are all commercial.
Should I write a program to do it?
I have also had a try with "Dots" but unfortunately it seems to be incompatible with the Linux version I run (Fedora Core3).
