Upgrading Linux and DB2

We currently are running DB2 8.2 FP 10 on Redhat RHEL v3 which is the 2.4 kernel. In the near future we will be upgrading Redhat to RHEL v4 which has the 2.6 kernel. DB2 has two different FP paths starting aft FP 9, one for the 2.4 kernel and one for the 2.6 kernel.

Has anyone had any experience doing this yet? Is there anything that I need to look out for? The database and the instance reside on a SAN that will not be touched in the upgrade (unless necessary). The OS, which reside on local drives will be wiped and overwritten with the new OS. I will take an offline backup of the DB before we start the upgrade, but if I do not have to touch the SAN, I should be able to just recatalog the database after the upgrade and I am back in business.

Thanks for any assistance.

Andy
