catalog

if you mean something like catalog.sql of ora : this is not possible
db2 created the catalog itself - no user action involved - as simple as create database command
why would you re-create the catalog
drop-create db : and save data before if any

catalo

db2 UNCATALOG DB <dbname> <<- to uncatalog the database name : local or remote
db2 CATALOG DB <dbname> THE <newname> <-- should be
db2 catalog db xx as yy only if xx has already been cataloged
db2 CATALOG TCPIP NODE <node> REMOTE 127.0.0.1 SERVER <service>
to catalog the machine/port where instance is running
db2 CATALOG DB <dbname> THE <sid> ATTN NODE <node>
what is THE and TN
db2 catalog db (as newname) at node xxxx
this should work..
db2 catalog db xx on /xx/xx if local

catalog

db2 CATALOG TCPIP NODE <node> REMOTE 127.0.0.1 SERVER <service>
node can be any name of your choice as long as you use the same name with catalog db at node xx
127.0.0.1 should be the ipaddress or hostname of the server where the db2instance is running. only in case of remote. local databases do not need tcpip access but use interprocess communication
service=port nbr
from existing instance :
db2 get dbm cfg |grep SVCENAME
if this is a symbolic name then
look in /etc/services and find this name, that will be mapped to a port in /etc/services or on windows c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services
otherwise this is a port nbr.
if local db from user other then instance owner (where db is already created and automatically cataloged)
db2 catalog local node xxx instance instancename
