DB2 Fault Monitor respawning too rapidly ...

Hello,
I recently upgraded db2 v8.2 fixpak 2 to fixpak5. I turned off the fault
monitor to make sure it doesn't respawn. After the install, system is stable and there are no performance issues. I noticed one thing though, AIX error report has the following message and nothing in the db2 logs.

Detail Data
SOFTWARE ERROR CODE
Command is respawning too rapidly. Check for possible errors.
COMMAND
id: fmc "/usr/opt/db2_08_01/ #DB2 Fault Monitor Coordinator"

Thanks
Srini

fmc

there is a known error in this level
to correct this : modify the record in /etc/initab/...db2fmc
and change the bin to bin32
or install at least fp10

Alternatively, if you do not want to use fmc, then you can comment out the line in /etc/inittab and run "init q". Note that both this things requires "root" privileges, so you will have to work with your sysadmin.

Hello, Thank you both for your response. Yes, as soon as I noticed the message, I commented it out. v8.1 fix 12. is the current version of the system. You said this is a bug in fix10. Does it show up in fix12 as well?
To be clear, I upgraded from 8.1 fix9 to fix12.

Thanks ...
