perl script trying to update monitor switches

1. Select,Insert and update works on my perl script.
2. When i try to do reset monitor all I am getting the following error message
"<!-- warning: DBD:B2::db do failed: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/AIX64] SQL0104N An unexpected token "monitor" was found following "reset ".
Expected tokens may include: "JOIN «joined_table»". SQLSTATE=42601 -->
"

Any idea

Regards
Rajesh Krishnan

Only SQL statements (DML, DDL or DCL) can be passed to the DBD interface; no DB2 commands like "monitor" or "import" etc.

To do it from within perl, just use commands like
$cmd = "monitor ...."; # or similar
$mon_output = `db2 $command`;
print $mon_output; # or whatever
