Db2 Backup In Hard Disk?

Dear Forum

I have SAP ECC 5.0 with db2 database and I'm planning a backup for the db sap tools (db13 transaction). I need save the backup in HARD DISK because I do not have actually a tool backup with sap agent and the tape device is connected to other server.

Can I configure the backup to save in Hard Disk from dbs control center?

In the db13 transaction display the following error message:

10.10.2006 16:00:46 [E] LFA171: Usage error: Tape device 'G:\Bck_logs_inactivos\' not known. Must be registered in Control Center Extension.

Thanks you in advanced

Osmany Martínez M.

Yes, you can backup to disk. You must have selected tape device by mistake.

Thanks You.
¿How I can configure the backup option in hard disk with control center?.
In SAP I have not the option to select a device, the tape is for default. I write g:\backup (this is local disk of the server) but the error say that “not known, Must be registered in Control Center Extension.”

If I do the backup using the control center - backup I have not problem because I select the hard disk.

Do you HAVE to use the Control Center or can you use another command line tool?

If it is possible you could try to specify the backup commando manually. directing the backup image to the desired device. I´d suggest you to take a look at the BACKUP command spec to see if it would help.
