Hi ,

I am working on DB2 v8.1.1.112 FixPak "12".
We have a box that has firewall on it.
So when I am trying to use task centre I get the following error:

DBA1177N A database connection to the Tools Catalog Database
"TOOLSDB" cannot be made. SQLCODE "08001"
ICM00001N An SQL error occurred while connecting to the
database. Database = "TOOLS17", Catalog = "SYSTOOLS".
[IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30081N A communication error has been
detected. Communication protocol being used: "TCP/IP".
Communication API being used: "SOCKETS". Location where the
error was detected: "". Communication function detecting the
error: "gethostbyname". Protocol specific error code(s): "*",
"11004", "*". SQLSTATE=08001 …

As a temporary fix I uncatalog the node that has been catalogued using box name and catalog it again using IP address. Some times this works but most of the time next time trying to use task centre again get the error this time complaining about another node and this goes on and on…

Can please some one provide me with a permanent solution?
