I have db2 version 8.1.9.917 server Fixpak "9" installed in Win XP. I loaded DB2 Information Integrator over it. After that I uninstalled just the DB2 Information Integrator. But now, I am not able to start my DB2 service.

From command prompt "db2start" says "SQL1042C An unexpected system error occurred"

From the Windows Service it says unable to start service. This is what I got from the Event Viewer

"The DB2 - DB2-0 service terminated with service-specific error 4294962116 (0xFFFFEBC4)."

Can anyone tell me whats wrong and how to fix this.

try a db2start from command window and check db2diag.log
service... check db2 get dbm cfg <-- SVCENAME
and db2nodes.cfg

Try reinstalling the DB2 fixpak.

Here's what db2diag.log has to say. Also db2nodes.cfg and SVCENAME seems to have correct entries.
