comp-3 hv for count( column fn

when we use comp-3 as host variable for count(*) it is actually faster & taking less CPU time than COMP & in the manual it is given that the host variable must be INTEGER Can you pls tell us why

Please post the exact picture clause for COMP-3 and COMP that you used.
