My understanding of DIO ,CIO is IO bypasses file cache; goes directly from disk to bufferpool; just like a raw device but without its cumbersome handling; till now you had to set it in OS using umount and mount; now you can do it within db2 command; it applies to all IO on the designated file systems; how did you find that there was an increase in Direct I/O?
