SQL6031N Error Error in db2nodes.cfg file at line no "" reason code "".

Hi,

I am using "DB2 v8.1.14.292" version of DB2 on windows XP SP2 machine.

While starting the m/c, I m getting the SQL6031N error:
Error in db2nodes.cfg file at line no "" reason code "".

After checking the services my DB2 - DB2-0, DB2 Governor and DB2 JDBC Applet Server : services are not running, in this first n last services are automatic, and an attempt to start the above services also fails.

My db2nodes.cfg has following entry:
0 aa-d07295811445 AA-D07295811445 0

My user is "aa", which is the member of db2admin group.

Also I have tried to start the m/c by removing 1 entry at a time i.e.
first with 0 aa-d07295811445 0 and secondly with 0 AA-D07295811445 0. But that is of no result.

Please suggest ASAP.

Thanks & Regards

cfg

have you modified the file before the error occured
always first stop db2 - modify the cfg file and start db2 again
it uses the file to stop/start db2 and if modified while running it can not execute the command stop anymore because the cfg file has changed
reset the file to original value and db2stop - modify - db2start
is the entry in cfg the real hostname or something else ???
it should be the real hostname twice or entry from hosts file...

No I have modified the file only once the error occurred. And also i follow the same protocol to modify the file. stopdb2 - modify - startdb2 . But that is of no use.

Also I have pasted the contents of db2nodes.cfg and it contains the real host name i.e. "aa" after that some unique no autogenerated. This "aa" is the windows user on my WinXP m/c. This user is also the member of db2admin as well as db2users group.

I guess that now we can think in some diff. direction.

Thanks & Regards

cfg

is the hostname aa-d07295811445
or d07295811445
it should only keep the hostname and not the userid.....
and twice the same entry on the same row .....
