Db2 on Mainframe Installation

All,
I have worked on application db2 on mainframes. I would like to know the db2 installation practices , installation of db2 patches etc., on a mainframe environment. I could not locate any pdf, or url in ibm.com. I understand that the manuals comes along with the db2 installation tape. Could you suggest any urls or any PDF for understanding the db2 installation on mainframes. Information on db2 system programming is much awaited.

Regards
Sahana

Hi,
what do you mean by mainframe? There are many db2 environments on mainframe. First of all there are two hardware: iSeries on zSeries
On iSeries there is db2 for iSeries,
on zSeries there are: db2 for zOS, db2 for VSE and VM, db2 for zLinux.

There is big difference in db2 by the operating system type you have.

So you need to provide more info.
Hope this helps,
Grofaty

The starting page for all info relating to DB2 for z/OS is http://www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/zos/
From there you can go to the v8 documentation at http://www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/zos/v8books.html which has hyperlinks to the PDF manuals; look in the Installation Guide (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bi...OOKS/dsnigj14/ for an HTML version and http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/dsnigj14.pdf for the pdf version) for information on installing DB2.
