online backup question

db2 v8.2 fix pak 10 aix 5.2

our database is on archive mode and during the batch job archive log directory became full and for few hours transfering logs from active logs to archive logs failed (in db2diag.log we got so manay massages as unsucessful loging into archive directory) is that mean we lost some logs? should we take a offline backup ASAP?

please advise?

It is unlikely you would have lost any logs .. AFAIK, if the archive of a log file fails, it is retried ... You will be able to see this info in the logs. Also, check the log file directory is any of them are missing.

If you are unsure, yes, taking a full backup will help .. Even an online backup is OK
