error in connecting to database

Hello,

I just installed db2 on my local system from IBM website. I am trying to connect to the SAMPLE database in db2 through control center and it says

[IBM][CLI Driver] SQL1032N No start database manager command was
issued. SQLSTATE=57019


Please help me in connecting to database

Using the Control Center, Under "Instances," right click on "DB2" and select "Start."

In DB2 you start or stop the instance, but connect to the database (you can have multiple databases in an instance).
