I am working with DB2 query packets. can anyone tell me from where in the DB2 query packet we canget Query start position.
what protocol DB2 used. May I have the details of DB2 query packets.

Could you explain a bit more on what you achieve? DB2 has packages. Is this what you are referring to? What do you mean with "start position"?

Which platform and which version of DB2 are you using?

I am playing with interprocess communication of DB2, and using version 7.1
I am not concerning with packages, i am playing with communication packets.when we send a connection request to DB2 server by its client "Command line processor" then what packet received by DB2 Server and witch protocol it uses to coomunicate with these type of clients?
how we can identify the connection packet or query packet.
In short I want to know what is the format of DB2 connection packet and Query packet in terms of HEADER,DATA, TAILER etc. as descriptive as posibble.

protocol can be found using following at command window

db2set -all | findstr -i db2comm

DB2 uses DRDA as communication protocol. That is standardized.

p.s: Version 7 (for Linux, Unix, and Windows) is out of service for nearly 1.5 years. You have a much higher chance to get responses if you use a current version of DB2.
