Here I had a problem with my UDB DB2 7.2.5 fix pak version. i.e, suddenly the database is not connected. we are checking the possibilities. If we connect the database, it comes error, I/o error is not accessing the database 58030 comes. we are using linux platform 7.3 and db2 7.2.5.

I want what is the procedure for crashed recovery for database. I do not want restore the total database. Supoose i am going to that total restore the database, i have loss the transactions for that day. generally we are taking night total backup the database. so we loss the current day transactions.

Please help me and give guide lines to avoid this type of crashes.

First, DB2 V7 is out of service for more than 1.5 years. You really may want to move to V8.

Next, you should let us know your platform. Linux 7.3 doesn't exist. The Linux kernel is at level 2.6.22.1. But much more interesting would be the name of your distribution.

What exactly do you try to do? (commands)
What exactly is the error message that you get?
What do you find in the db2diag.log for the failing operation?
What have you changed recently on your system?
