alternate fixpak

Hi All,

ENV: DB2 UDB v8.2, AIX 5.3

I have this AIX server on which another DBA installed DB2 v8.2 and installed an alternate FP 14 on top of it and again applied an alternate FP 7a (don't know why). Now DB2 is defaulting to v8.1 FP 7.

After looking at the logs in /tmp i figured out that he had applied alternate fixpacks instead of the normal fixpak as the logs are something like "db2_install_log.495696". Is there any other way to know if alternate fixpak is installed?

Also I would like to install the normal FP14, what do i have to do for that? Do i need to first deinstall these alternate fixpacks? It would be great if somebody could help me in finding out the process for getting rid of these alternate fixpaks and installing the normal fixpaks.

$ db2level
DB21085I Instance "db2inst1" uses "64" bits and DB2 code release "SQL08020"
with level identifier "03010106".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v8.1.1.64", "s040812", "U498350", and FixPak "7".
Product is installed at "/usr/opt/db2_08_01".

Thanks
Anks

Just to clarify, by normal fixpak I mean the GA fixpak.

Thanks
