db2 connect 32 bit vs 64 bit

We are going to put up a new 64 bit Windows DB2 Connect server. We are installing DB2 Connect 64 bit on this server. Unfortunately, our test environment is 32 bit...both os and Connect. The servers go to z/os DB2 subsystems only. Is this going to be a problem? Does it matter to the application/application software whether or not it's "passing thru" a 32 bit connect or a 64 bit connect? I understand there is a difference with ESA and the instances...but Connect doesn't have an instance.
