I have a laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit and when I try to install DB2 Personal edition, it says there was a problem creating the instance. I'm wondering if I can run it on this system or not. And if not, is there another type of DB2 I should have downloaded? Thanks.

according the doc, these are the supported platforms:
Windows® XP Professional (32-bit and x64) Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit and x64) Windows Vista Business (32-bit and x64) Windows Vista Enterprise (32-bit and x64)
