Hi guys, im facing a strange problem with the db2 backup size, our last backups have had the following sizes:

18G

24G

26G

20G

22G

19G

24G

20G


As you can see it’s a size irregulatiry, we are not deleting huge information in our database, and our database cant grow 6G in day for example, the max size that have been grown has been 1G, besides the backup file says it finished at 1:12am but db2 in diaglog says: 1:45 am , always the backup finishs at OS level before than db2 says. We started to have this issue 6 after a full recovery for a problem with a tablespaces that we had.


We are using db2 8.2 Enterprise and AIX 5.3.

don't know if this helps, but did you make some reorg on tables? There maybe is some unused space in tablespace.
