redirected restore

hi all
i have a small question.
can we change the SMS tablespace containers to DMS tablespace containers during redirected restore operation.
i want to change my SMS tablespaces to DMS tablespaces.
if not this way is there any other way to change from SMS to DMS tablespaces.
my db is db2 V8.2fp5solaris.
and if it is possible to do so,can we do a redirected restore from solaris(V8.2)to aix(V9.1)?.

any help is appreciated
Thanks.

No. You will have to use the db2look/db2move approach.

Hi,
redirected restore is intent to redirect storage containers from one file system path to another. Redirected restore does not support any other operation like transformation between SMS and DMS.

SMS to DMS conversion is not possible during redirect restore. Like n_i noted the simpliest approach is to use db2look and db2move commands.

Moving backup image between Solaris and AIX depends if Solaris is x64 or SPARC. See more at: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce...c/c0005960.htm

Hope this helps,
Grofaty
