event monitor with files

Hi All,

Can the files associated with a particular event monitor can be deleted...not the ctl file but the the other *.evt files > if yes, does it affect the event monitor in any way... actually its filling up the spaces quite fast and i need to clear it without affecting my event monitor in any way...
