DB2 debugger

We want to develop a DB2 LUW debugger for SQL stored procedures, written in Java. Can you please show me some links with general guidelines or about what APIs should we use for this tool?
Thanks a lot.

What OS and version of DB2 are you using? Why do you want to send time doing something you get for free? Check out the Developer Workbench or Data Studio.

we want a generic cross-platform tool

The Developer Workbench works with both versions.
