How to downgrade from V9.5 to V8

Hi all,

Can someone please tell me the procedure on how to downgrade from v9 to
v8 on AIX?

And to add to it we migrated from v8 to v9.5 and due to some issues we want to downgrade back to v8 but we dont have a backup of v8.

The procedure what we have in mind is : Create a instance in v8 and then restore backup from v9, but here my concern is can we restore a backup image of v9 on v8?

Thank you all in advance.

I think you will have to do a db2look (DDL) and db2move (data).

Hi,
backup from upper level of database to lower level is not supported. After restore the migration process is executed that is not supported and I think you will get error message.

The only option probably is Marcus_A suggestion.

More about downgrade see: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce.../t0022267.html
Hope this helps,
Grofaty
