have a db2 server which is having 1 instance running 8.x .
wanted to install 9.x in the same box where i'll be creating a different instance

question - is it possible in db2 - both the version running in the same box ?

if Y can any body suggest me what are the steps required ?

Yes it is possible. The steps depend on the operating system. Refer to the readme file and installation instructions for more details.

The instructions are with the fixpack or code release. Where else would expect to find them?

currently i dont have the much information / access about where is fix pack /coderelease doc etc (any link ?)... (fyi new to db2 dba)

i'm preparing / need to prepare a doc like how to go ahead any suggestion where i can get very basic info about the installation / upgradfation of db2 from 8.2 to 9.5...

My zlinux application whose DB2 version is upgraded from V8FP16 to V95FP3a on my Test environment.

when I try to test the application its gives an Error of :
"Unicode, Language issue or inputfile does not match the UTF-8 format: sun.io.MalformedInputException "

Please help me in resolving this Error, as this is an urgent issue to be fixed.
