can't restore without database name

I have a database backup that has been sent to me, but I am not sure of the database name; the default name may not have been used. Also I have a date but not a full timestamp.
I can’t find a way to restore the database without knowing the db name and a timestamp.

Is there a way to get this information from the backup file, or is there a command that will restore without that info.

Thanks
Matt

Hi,
execute the following command in CMD:
Code:
type your_db_image_file | more
You will get something like:
SQLUBRMEDHEAD
SAMPLE
20080804220005

Second row is database name and third row is database backup timestamp. DB2 v8 on Windows is using folders. So create the following folders tree: C:\SAMPLE.0\DB2\NODE0000\CATN0000\20080804 and copy db2 image file 220005.001 to above folder.

Note: you need to change bolded text with your data.

Hope this helps,
Grofaty
