ODBC with DriverManager w/o catalogin db possible?

Hi All,

I was wondering if it is possible to use DB2 ODBC driver with a ODBC driver manager and NOT having to catalog db in the db2 catalog? I'd like the db to be configured in the driver manager's config file and passed to the ODBC driver. I am using db2 v8 and v9.5 on linux with unix-odbc as driver manager.
Can I achieve something like that with SQLDriverConnect() and passing the needed configuration information as keywords in the connection string?

Thanks in advance

Alexander
