In db2,db2/IRP/db2dump file system was full.I want to archive the db2dump.

what is the command in db2 for archiving.give a example

You will get some very goog example of Tar and Gzip in "about.linux.com".

Its nothing but you are compressing your previous archive logs and then you are Zipping the same (which reduces the size by 40-60%). And moving to another directory.

The only thing you have to know is that DB2 will automatically re-create the contents of the db2dump/ directory when needed. So the "cleanup" is actually to remove all files in that directory. If you still need them for whatever purpose, you should create a backup. How exactly you do that doesn't matter, and using tar and gzip are just basic standard tools in Unix environments that can help you there.
