Hello,

I have created a system image of AIX5.3. All the DB2 installation and instance file systems were on the rootvg.

This image has been restored on another AIX workstation and verified whether all the file systems has been created and all are fine. (both db2home directory and the Database file system directory)

Now if i logon as db2 instance owner (which is db2adm) and try to start the DB, it is throwing error. And while tring to connect to DB, throwing error with SQL1031N- The Database directory cannot be found on the indicated file system.

The only difference between the original server and the image restored server is the hostname and the ip address. Is this creating any issue on starting the DB?

If anyone throws some light on this issue, it will be very much appreciated and helpful.

Hi Rase,
Can you please inform the db2level output for both the source and the new server.

db2level was same on both source and the target server (it is DB2 9.1 fixpack 2)

Locate a file called db2nodes.cfg and change the host name as appropriate.

The file should be located under <instance-home>/sqllib
