installed db2 on Ubuntu 8.10 today using the standard users (e.g. db2inst1). Everything went fine and I could create a database in the control center (db2cc). Now I want to use the database with other users on the same host (!) as well.

I do have a java tool which accesses the database. It works fine with user db2inst1 but not with another standard user of the same host.

Do I need a special configuration to allow other users as well to access the host? I couldn't find it in the documentation.

Did you grant access to that user? See the GRANT statement in the SQL Reference Vol 2.
