db2 on i series

Hi all ,
I have two questions

1 . I have a flat file which is to be loaded in a table in a db2 database which is on iseries (as400) IWill the process be same as we do on db2udb .

2. In my new project the existing team remotely catalogs the db2 i series db through control system and while selecting the OS they specify as Linux and not as400. can anyone explain why ? does that mean that I can write a linux shell script on as400. iN short how the connection between as400 and linux
