An Upgrade Failed -- ??

Hi everybody.

We tried to upgrade from DB2 V8.1.9 Workgroup Server Edition FP9 to DB2v9.5 Workgroup Server Edition FP 0

The upgrade failed with error
Click Ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'DB2 Workgroup Sever Edition.msi' in the box below.

Very clearly it indicates that setup package was not found. This package belongs to older version. V8 FP 9.

To my surprise, DB2 uses older installation pacakge .msi files to un-install db2 before we go ahead with 'Work With Existing' option.

And we do not have that installation package. I did not find it anywhere.

What can I do. Where can I find that ver ( FP 9 64bit).

Has any body had such experience.
What could the alternate be ??

Thanks for your time .

Do not have an answer for your question, but based on this db2sysc leaking memory after upgrade to V9.5
you might want to reconsider going to FP 0

This is beacuse the installation path is missing.
I mean long ago someone had removed the installation source files including .MSI package.

Now MSI packages are not compatible across the fixpacks. My server is db2v8.1.9.

Should I find that msi file I might resolve un-installation issue.

Thanks , help awaited

That we may think later, for now we failed to install DB2V9.5 [ we are trying to upgrade to FP "0" already not "3a" ]

We were instaling DB2 v9.5 FP "0" WSE. This was usng Existing instnce.
This failed because the older version 8.1.9 WSE was looking for setup package used at the time of installation of 8.1.9 WSE long ago. The source had been deleted. Now DB2 won't un-install without old package.
I called IBM software support team and explained the situation. They provided me the source (setup) package which resolved my problem.
This definitely had affected our employer company timewise and moneywise.

Thanks all who tried to help.
