How to find who is holding DB2DIAG.LOG

Hi Friends,

DB2 v9.1 on Win 2k3 standard server

I am having problem with one production server that I cannot rename
db2diag.log file.

Does anyone have any tool to find out how to get this file released. It is 56 mb right now and notepad.exe takes long time to load it.

Any idea or command to find out.

Thanks

DBFinder

Are you getting a locked file error when deleting/renaming it?

On Windows, try Process Explorer or filemon. Also, check if you have some OS utlities running that may have placed a lock on it (anti-virus, OS backup/copy, etc...). You may also check Windows Event log for errors.

I was trying to rename it via explorer.

I was saying "file in use".

This was tried many times on various daytimes since monday.

Thanks for mentioning filemon. This was I looking for.

Regards

Process Explorer may be a better one to use for this purpose:
Process Explorer

But try filemon as well
