what command is for listing the path of any one of the instances

what do you mean by Path of the instance ?

The sqllib directory (which is where all executeables and many configs for the instance are stored) will be in the instance owner's home directory

This is on Unix

On windows, it will be a sub-directory of the sqlllib directory ...
For instance DB2, it will be
C:\......\sqllib\DB2
For instance MYINST it will be
C:\......\sqllib\Myinst

that is great. This works better then a find command. Specially that people where I am now decided to set up unix group access in such a way that prevents me from finding db2profile. Where this command gives me what I need and much faster.

p.s. any idea why there is almost no documentation on this command?

There is not really much to document since most people would only use -dump option. Other options require root and should not really be used without contacting DB2 support. This could be the reason why they don't have much documentation on this.
