Want to replace DB2 connect with a thin driver

Hi

Current our system is using DB2 Connect Personal to connect to the database as recomended by IBM. Since it is a heavy install and it should be installed on the every End-User Pc ,we are trying to think about some thin driver for this connection purpose . Can anybody please suggest a third party driver which is very thin so that it can serve our needs

IBM has a thin type 4 Universal driver. But you normally need DB2 Connect to connect from Windows to mainframe DB2 (z/OS) or iSeries DB2 (you failed to specify which server you are connecting to). But don't actually need DB2 Connect software, just a license for DB2 Connect added in the path of the DB2 type 4 Universal Driver (which is a single jar file for the driver and one for the DB2 Connect license).

Version is not enough. Need the DB2 product name, version number, sub version number, and operating system of the database server you are trying to connect to.

Also need the operating system of the client where you want to connect from.
