Production System : New process "db2pmd" found

On our Linux Redhat system with DB2 V9.1 FP7 we found some new process "db2pmd"

I searched on google and IBM DB2 Infocenter but cannot find any information about this process. Could anyone tell us the function/details of db2pmd?

pmd - priority management daemon. I believe db2pmd is started when you start the instance. Its job is to wait for messages from agents to create or destroy shared memory segments with hugetlb option (for large pages). Sorry, I don't have any additional information.
