Looks like cast operand converts one data type to another by changing data (if types are compatible).
What I need is to interpret decimal data type as char/varchar by not converting data(just the same data, only as char).

Possible ?

What DB2 version and OS are you using? What do you mean by "interpret as char"? You need to be more specific.
