Hello. I have one instance of DB2 (V8.1 Fixpak17a) running on a 64 bit Linux (SLES10SP2) box. I have 32G of memory. Currently DB2 has 60% of this memory and OS has 40%. I would like to know the best practice for the memory allocation. Also how much of swap space should i have. Thanks
Swap space should be twice the amount of physical RAM, in your case 64 GB. As for the amount of memory that DB2 is using, it depends on what else is running on the server.
