How to close connection from an application to Database?

We are using LIFERAY to develop our application so we are specifying only data source.
Our server is in Windows Platform.

That depends on the API you use to establish the connection, of course. In embedded SQL, you use CONNECT RESET, for example. The documentation for your API describes the way to connect - it will also describe what to do to disconnect.
