700 is obsolete. I suggest you take 730.

IBM developerWorks : DB2 9 Fundamentals certification 730 prep series

Download these tutorials and I am sure you can pass (and learn too)!

Thaks for the reply but for the beginners level 700 is necessary. It is posible to give 730 direct.

730 (Fundamentals) is not specific about DB2 LUW or DB2 z/OS.

Just take test 730.

My opinion is that everyone with good SQL background can pass this test with very minimal learning effort. You should familiarize yourself with the DB2 products and the absolute basics of administration (e.g. what is a tablespace) - everything else is just knowing standard SQL.

Thanks
I will go for 730 first. I have DB2 9.7 software and that I have installed on windows Server 2003 using VMWARE. How could I make the best use of the software for practice? How to create dummy database for practice in DB2 9.7?

From DB2 Command Window, enter:
db2 create db db2dummy

I'd have suggested to create a db called db2dummy1 if db2 allowed the db name to be more than 8 char.

If you don't already have the SAMPLE database, go to the DB2 Menu under Windows "Start/Programs", select "Set Up Tools", select "First Steps", and then Create the SAMPLE database. You can also run db2sampl from the DB2 Command Window to create the SAMPLE database.

You can also create a new database from the First Steps menu, or from the Control Center.
