Migration from 32 to 64 bit in HADR env

Hi folks,

I need to migrate DB2 8.2 32 bit to 8.2 64 bit in HADR setup running in AIX 5.3, in order to enchance performance. Firstly, I would like to know can I updgrade both the servers or do I need to updagrade Primary server and then recreate HADR on 64 bit ???

Please help me with the best solution.

I believe you will need to create a new 64-bit instance and start HADR from scratch. I would use db2look/db2move to move to the new instance.

I don't think that the change in instance bitness affects databases. I have not tried such configuration, but I don't really see why you cannot just modify the stand-by instance, fail over, then modify the primary.
