HADR- NEtwork failure server reboot

Hi,

I have a question with HADR Network failure.

Why does a server ( primary or standby) reboot when it is isolated from network ( single network between primary and standby ) ?

IBM doc says to avoid split brain . Can anyone explain it in more detail ?

Thanks
Panditt

"Split brain" means that both parts of the cluster think they are primary. If network connection breaks up between them, the primary has no way of knowing that the former standby has performed the takeover and is now also primary.

The best way to prevent split brain is to use a Virtual IP that gets moved to the primary server along with the execution of the HADR Takeover command.
