DB2 v8 to v9.5 migration_Identity collation

Hi Friends,
I am new to DB2. I am currently working on a migration project where we are migrating our databases to V9.5 from V8.2. While doing an impact analysis, I read that in V9.5, catalogs collate using IDENTITY sequence in Unicode database.

For this what am I supposed to check. How can I find out if there will be an impact due to this after migration. Please help.

If you create a new database in new DB2 version it will be unicode by default and probably with different collating sequence than in your original database. If you restore your database in new DB2 version, db cfg should be picked up from backup.

If you don't want an impact just use same db cfg as in your original database. Restoring your database from backup file in new version should do the trick.

If you want to learn more abt collating sequence, it's here:
