db2 codeset ISO8859-1

Hello folks,

i have a question regarding db2 codeset,

what all international languages does db2 codeset ISO8859-1 supports.

i have read somewhere that it supports only English and western Europe characters. my question is does it support Asian and other European languages/characters as well.

my database version db2v9.5 fp4, OS Aix-5.3

Database territory = US
Database code page = 819
Database code set = ISO8859-1
Database country/region code = 1
Database collating sequence = UNIQUE

Thanks

it does not. depending on your OS see 'Supported territory codes and code pages' on IC (you can search for 'codeset ISO8859-1'):
