Closing a .Net OleDB Reader is taking 250ms on DB2

I am in the process of migrating a prototype app built on top of SQLServer over to DB2 and am finding that calling the close method on the .Net OleDBDataReader object is taking 250ms which is proving to be a show stopper.

I was wondering if anyone else had cone across this problem and if there is a solution. I am using the IBM Driver.
